Avoiding Feature Interactions in the Users' Interface
نویسنده
چکیده
The causes for feature interactions are many, therefore several remedies will have to be applied together. In this paper, we investigate the architecture of the users' interface of a telephone switching system and tackle a certain kind of feature interactions by employing a more modular structure for the design of the system and its features. We propose to apply results from the research on human-computer interfaces (HCI) to the speciication of requirements of telecommunication systems. After we have connned the feature interactions in question to one information-hiding module, we show what is necessary to detect them by formal validation. We discuss brieey how the general approach can be applied to the existing Intelligent Network (IN) architecture in particular.

EEG Based Brain Computer Interface Hand Grasp Control: Feature Extraction Method MTCSP
Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) are communication systems, which enable users to send commands to computers by using brain activity only; this activity being generally measured by Electroencephalography (EEG). BCIs are generally designed according to a pattern recognition approach, i.e., by extracting features from EEG signals, and by using a classifier to identify the user’s mental state from...

متن کاملOn Avoiding Mode Confusions in the Telephony User Interface ?
We present a new way in which one can view and tackle a relevant class of feature interaction problems in telephony. One can view them as mode confusions, which are well known in the human-computer interface of shared-control systems. In telephony, call control is shared between users and many modern telephony features. Some examples are call screening, call forwarding, voice mail, and credit c...
متن کاملA review on EEG based brain computer interface systems feature extraction methods
The brain – computer interface (BCI) provides a communicational channel between human and machine. Most of these systems are based on brain activities. Brain Computer-Interfacing is a methodology that provides a way for communication with the outside environment using the brain thoughts. The success of this methodology depends on the selection of methods to process the brain signals in each pha...

User interfaces are always one of the most important applied and study fields of information technology. The development and expansion of cognitive science studies and functionalization of its tools such as BCI1, as well as popularization of methods such as SSVEP2 to stimulate brain waves, have led to using these techniques every day, especially in appropriate solutions for physically and menta...
